Here is June's newsletter, below is a quick overview of what's inside:
New Signage: Thanks to Ken and the men’s shed, we now have new signposts to guide our visitors around the museum. They fit perfectly with our aesthetic and are already making a difference in helping visitors navigate the space.
Jobcentre Plus Work Experience Scheme: We're thrilled to announce our participation in this scheme, offering valuable work experience to young jobseekers and those returning to the workforce. This initiative will support our local community and help us work towards accreditation.
Upcoming Volunteers Meeting: Our next meeting is scheduled for September 19th. We had a wonderful time at the last meeting and look forward to your continued ideas and support.
Audio Guide Development: Kenzie and I are working on an audio guide to enhance accessibility for our visitors, especially those with visual impairments. We're halfway through the script and appreciate all your contributions.
Museum Development Grant: We've secured a grant for a project to create a proper accessions register with collections management software. This will significantly improve our documentation and preservation efforts.
New Photo Gallery and Scanned Books: Visitors can now access our digital photo gallery with any internet-connected device. Plus, we've been scanning books from our library, and PDFs are available for borrowing—just send me an email if you're interested.
Thank you for your continued support and contributions. Together, we're making great strides in enhancing the museum experience, and reaching accredited museum status.
