Dear all,
It was really lovely to see so many of you recently, and to have the chance to say thank you in person for all the time, care and energy you’ve given to the museum this year. It was also a pleasure to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Attached is our final newsletter of 2025, which looks back on the year through data, stories and updates from across the museum. It brings together visitor figures, social media and website insights, highlights from our outreach work, new accessions, organisational changes, and the grants and support that have helped keep the museum running and developing.
You’ll also find:
a clear picture of how many people we welcomed this year (and just how busy the Arts Festival week really was),
what we’ve learned about how people engage with us online,
how donations and funding have been used,
and a snapshot of the behind-the-scenes work that often goes unseen, from collections care to cataloguing and accessibility improvements.
Most importantly, the newsletter reflects something we all know to be true: the museum simply wouldn’t function without its volunteers. Your contribution underpins everything we do, and this newsletter is very much a celebration of that collective effort.
Thank you again for everything you’ve done in 2025. I hope you enjoy reading the newsletter, and I’m really looking forward to what we’ll achieve together in 2026.
With very best wishes,
Rosie
